Outer Banks
This was our 3rd year down to the Outer Banks with Patrick's parents and his sister and her family. We had fun as usual, but as usual, the weather wasn't all we had hoped for. It rained a bit but nothing too bad. It got a little chilly, but throw on a jacket and you were fine. The problem was the wind. Step foot out side and hang on for dear life. Our deck furniture went for a few rides down the deck, nearly flipping over the rail because of how powerful the wind was. We made the best of it, and it did give way sometimes to let us have some outdoor enjoyment. Finally the last day was beautiful! We were able to relax on the beach for a few hours which is what I had been looking forward to all week!
Our place is in Kill Devil Hills, NC. I always wondered how on earth someone would come up with such a name. Well, I'm glad to tell you that I finally found out. Apparently back in the days of pirates and such, Sailors/pirates would come upon shore. And they were known for their drinking. Kill Devil Hills had such strong rum that the pirates would say "Arghh, this here rum would kill the devil himself, argh!" (the argh's were mine :) And so you see, this is where Kill Devil Hills received its name.
Jockey's Ridge
IT's known for its naturally high sand dunes.

our back decks but I couldn't get the camera any faster.
When it land 3 homes down on the beach, we all assumed there was some type of emergency.
Silly us, it was just our neighbor being dropped off at his beach house by a buddy... how convenient.
Our Golf Outing at Nags Head (I shot a 105! Not bad for someone who never gets to play)Trish trying to relax, Bryan trying to drink
