Obey Thy Mother: Stop Growing!

Maybe just a little rambling tonight ... :) .....

My body feels like it needs to rest for at least 1 solid week. Steam cleaning your carpets will do that to you, though. Mostly done, just waiting until I can see the carpet in the kids' rooms which may be burried at depths of 2' or more.
Trying to get the house tidied up before my baby's birthday sleepover party.Yes, I said my BABY. My little sweat-pea, pumpky, my Laner Bear. In her innocence, she likes to call me grandma (b/c she's the Mom to her babydolls) and then tells me how when I get old and turn into a real grandma, then I'm going to die. lol., That's it?!? I thought I was supposed to have some fun if I'm a grandmother so she better not try to kill me off before I feel I am finished, lol. She's turning 4... did I mention that? On Sunday, June 6th. My youngest, my baby :( I don't know how many times I told her to STOP growing, but she just hasn't listened.

I'm so afraid I'm going to be too busy to take the time to watch and play and remember exactly what things were like when my kids are this young. I've already forgotten some of the memories from Addison at this age.

Growth must continue, and change does not mean bad... So I welcome the next chapter from my children and hope it's even more wonderful than the previous years, (but that will be a tough one to beat) .
I just hope that I'm doing my job well in regards to teaching them. I feel like keeping a child safe and teaching him/her how to become an honorable, righteous man/woman are one's most important role in parenting.

Kids & Coys

These are the most recent pics of Addison and Helena with their cousins, Alexandra & Isabel. Probably the last one before we add another to the group, Sarah & Michael's future little boy, Angelo (j/k)... HAHA!

Valentine's Day is So Special!

If you know me just a little, you'd probably know that the title is completely sarcastic. I think it's sweet that couples dedicate a day to each other, giving gifts to show their love. I guess the problem I have with it is that all too often, people forget about their significant other the majority of the remainder of the year, with the exception of celebrating their relationship on an anniversary. Do you really feel special getting flowers and heart shaped candy boxes when you know that the only reason you are getting it is because it is socially expected? You know what would be truly special? Originality, spontaneity...
The best Valentine's gift I ever received was a pair of sneakers. That's thoughtful. Now, some people want the gooey lovely dovey attention, and that's great too. Personally, I'm happier with practical gifts. It tells me that I was listened to when maybe I didn't think I was heard. Talk about putting a smile on someone face. I can tell you who is smiling on Valentine's Day.... Hallmark!.. smiling all the way to the bank with all your hard-earned money spent on roses marked up 5x the normal amt. But if it works for you, fantastic; enjoy and gobble up all that romance you can get because the point is to celebrate love, devotion, relationships.... just remember, you don't need those typical V-Day items to show someone you love them.
